How pins stay in place

A pin isn't stuck to a point on the screen. It's attached to the element you clicked. With each pin Sitemark saves:

• the element's position in the page's structure, so it can find it again
• the page's scroll position and window size
• a screenshot of what you saw

So when the window is resized, the layout changes, or someone views the page on another screen, the pin moves with its element.

When a pin doesn't show#

A pin appears once its element is on the page. It may not show when:

• the element isn't rendered yet, for example inside a closed menu, a tab you haven't opened, or a carousel slide that isn't showing. Open it and the pin appears.
• the element is further down the page and loads as you scroll. Scroll to it.
• the element was removed or heavily changed in a new version of the site. The pin keeps its thread and screenshot, so its context isn't lost. Find it on the project board in the dashboard.
